Raising the Vibration (Love Will Pave the Way)

Story

This was the instrumental (“V of Mood“) that I first sent Declaime when he said he wanted more tracks to work on. It was the most hip-hop-adjacent thing I could think of in a pinch. He liked it, and the rest is…it feels weird to say history when I’m writing this pre-release. But that’s the saying, so there you go.

Most of the song, I’m doing an effects call-and-response on his vocals. The reverb will send to the left channel in one phrase, and then it will send to the right in the next phrase, and occasionally it will be on both or neither.

This instrumental wasn’t the closer on its own album, but I really like it as a closer to this one. The lyrics reinforce the themes, we end with a previously-unheard vocalist in Peaches (a.k.a. Daviance Blunt, the vocal engineer), and it’s an altogether chill track.
